Publication Opportunity

Modest payment ($20) and publication are available for a student (or graduate, or faculty member) interested in compiling a bibliography of articles and books related to prose poetry. Compilation will involve aggregating several existing bibliographies and searching for recent publications in the area. The resulting bibliography will be published in Sentence #8 and in a forthcoming anthology of early Modern prose poetry, to be published by White Pine Press. Interested parties should email me.

I guess I can call myself a writer now

I was just notified yesterday that "1943" a chapter from my thesis-in-progress won the 2010 International Arts Movement Juried Competition in Fiction. I'll be doing a reading from my submission at IAM's annual conference at Cooper Union's Great Hall in Greenwich Village on Saturday, March 6th. Tickets are still available if you happen to be in the area and feel the burning desire to challenge the way you look at arts and the world.

    Opportunity to Publish

As I mentioned previously, I am now serving as Managing Editor of the Thin Threads inspirational book series. This is a great opportunity for MFA students and alumnae to get a publishing credit, earn some cash, and possibly earn extra cash AND a donation to your favorite charity!

Click here for the link to the Thin Threads contest site or you can simply click on the post title above. Writers whose submissions are accepted are paid a permission fee of $100. For the contest, the winning story will receive a $500 cash prize AND $500 will go to the storyteller's favorite charity. Details can be found at the website by clicking the link.

When you're on the site two things worth mentioning:
-Contest deadline has been extended from March to May 2, 2010.
-Go to submission guidelines and you will see a list for the particular themes we are currently most interested in.

I encourage you to seriously look at this opportunity! I hope to be reading about many of your "thin thread" moments!

    Join Fiction Think Tank

The first rule of Fiction Think Tank... don't talk about FTT.

Okay, maybe it isn't that serious. Anyway, I've created this blog to discuss creative collaboration, create and write collaboratively, and just work on projects together using technology and good writing.

I also have some Google Wave invites to try working collaboratively with this new Google development program (I only had to beg Google to let me in). If anyone wants to play and use this new feature, just shoot me an email. A potential interesting application.

    Best to all
