Dan Pope Workshop

Dan has kindly offered to give an on-campus workshop on the evening of March 25. The subject of the workshop will be line-editing prose, whether fiction or nonfiction. If you are interested in attending, please contact me no later than March 9 so we can determine whether there will be sufficient attendance for the workshop. All attendees will be asked to submit work in advance for potential discussion in the workshop.

I wish I could go, but the newspaper is produced at night . . . I will attest to the Pope's line editing skills. He'll take your 15-page fourth draft that you think is good and tight and snappy and return it to you 3 pages lighter . . . but better and tighter and snappier.

I wish I could go to, but I have tickets for To Kill A Mockingbird that night. As another mentee I can say Pope's perspective on line editing prose is worth your time. Let me know if it gets rescheduled, of course.

Brian - If this is open to graduates I would attend! I will mark my calendar tentatively and wait to hear if it's confirmed.

Thanks to Dan for offering this opportunity.
