Best Travel Writing Solas Awards

Hey everyone, an article I wrote on recent travels to Cuba garnered a bronze in the 2012 Best Travel Writing Solas Awards. Not a huge deal, but I thought I'd make it available here in case anyone's interested in Cuba or travel writing. Here's the link: http://bit.ly/GDXB2t

If you are interested in going to Cuba and want some travel advice, please feel free to contact me. It's an exciting time to go, as things are in the process of opening up.

Great story. Nice balance of the locale, people and politics. You failed to mention how a Vermont resident coped with the many non-airconditioned establishments in Cuba. Maybe that was intentional so as to not discourage future tourists.

Thanks Brian! I'm sort of anti-airconditioning anyway, yet another reason Cuba is my kind of place.

Love the psychology of the taxi driver's line, so cool, it said so much with so little:

“I thought so. The way they were talking, I thought I was in a film.”
