Commencement

Was great to have so many of this year's grads participating in commencement this year! Congrats to all, and here's hoping everyone got home safe and sound. See (most of) you in August...

Congratulations all. I began with many of you . . . and will finish - hopefully next year! See you in August.

I'd encourage all up and coming potential graduates to consider going to commencement. After all the hard work, it really makes earning the MFA official - each one of our names was called and we were "hooded" - individually - on center stage by our own Professor Clements. My two youngest kids, ages 19 and 23, who are also in school, thought it was pretty cool, too!

Congrats, guys. Glad you decided to join us, Kathy. Too bad I couldn't make it. Was in Michigan doing military... stuff.

I wouldn't have missed it for anything. It was great being with all my family and friends. The pomp, the circumstance, the hooding, and especially the Professorial Gauntlet at the end were surreally fabulous (not to mention the after-party!)If you were thinking about not walking, give it another thought. It was infinitely worth it.

I'm so glad I crossed the stage. It was a great night for all of us.

I agree with Kathy. I was not thrilled about attending commencement last year, but was glad I did. The idea of ritual and ceremony really does help put closure on important, hard-earned phases of our lives.

Congrats to all!
